The turn of the year saw a change in the management of Böhler Miller Messer und Sägen GmbH. After eight years of sole responsibility as managing director, master of engineering Dieter Döberl resigned from his office. His previous substitutes Jörg Wengenroth (master of business administration) and Andreas Peter Müller (graduate engineer) now form the management. Wengenroth is the commercial managing director while Müller is the technical managing director.
"We therewith also give a clear signal for continuity and continuance of a successful way. This smooth transition has been well planned and prepared for a long time", according to Döberl who now confides the management of the successful company to the two new managers.
In 2007, the company, which operates in the high-technology range, realized a turnover of € 32 mil and generated an EBIT of more than 10 %. Compared to the previous year, this includes a turnover increase of 7 % and of more than 30 % regarding the yield. "With these benchmarks we have a top position in the metal industry", says Wengenroth, who predicts another turnover increase for 2008 and believes in the company being able to maintain the level of yield.
The company, which sees its future success in high technologies and manufactures products with close tolerances and high precision for the global market, reinvested the entire operating results realized since 2000 in the site in Böhlerwerk.
BMMS is a company of the IKS Klingelnberg group and does not have any relations to the Böhler-Uddeholm group. IKS with eight production sites in Europe and Asia is the leading manufacturer of industrial knives in the world and generated a turnover of € 130 mil with 1,100 employees in 2007. The Klingelnberg group is divided into three divisions: wood, paper and metal. Dieter Döberl was the managing director of the wood division. This function will be taken over by Mr. Wengenroth, whereby the significance of the site in the Ybbstal within the entire group is further substantiated.
Further investments of about € 1 mil are scheduled for 2008, namely in the high-class training of its employees. At present, 19 apprentices are trained in Böhlerwerk, who are provided with modern training machines such as 3-axis CNC machining centers.
